National Weather Service & Florida Emergency Management Warn of Extreme Heat in Central Florida Area

Guests visiting Walt Disney World and the Central Florida area should be aware of an extended duration of heat through early next week. High temperatures are expected to reach up to 97° with a heat index of up to 108°.

Both the National Weather Service and Florida Division of Emergency Management have released warnings about the extreme heat and tips on how to stay cool as well as warning signs to look out for when it comes to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Keep in mind that Disney World offers complimentary ice water at quick service locations. When visiting the parks, we make sure to stop at least once per hour to hydrate and cool down with some air conditioning. Even when this extended period of extreme heat passes, it will be imperative to stay hydrated and take breaks during a visit to Walt Disney World this summer.
