The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an update about forecasted severe weather for the Central Florida area for Tuesday, January 9th. According to the update, there is a slight to enhanced risk of severe storms on Tuesday for the Central Florida area, with windy conditions expected for most of the day, and severe storms expected in the afternoon into the evening hours. The NWS says that severe thunderstorms will be capable of locally damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, and one or two tornadoes (potentially strong).

Here’s a look at the forecasted timing of the conditions. The NWS says that southerly winds increase to 20-30mph with gusts 35-45mph in the late morning and afternoon ahead of the thunderstorms coming later in the day.
There are no operational impacts to the Walt Disney World theme parks at this time. Typically, Disney World will continue to operate as normal, with weather policies such as lightning or heavy rain policies dictating the operation of outdoor attractions and entertainment.
