Increase of Infractions Prompts Disney Cruise Line to Send Reminder of Prohibited Items to Guests (Drones, Marijuana, Weapons, Steamers, and More)

Disney Cruise Line is sending an email to guests on upcoming cruises, reminding them of the prohibited items policy. Here’s the announcement and email:

As guests begin to pack for their vacation, please remember to closely review the prohibited and restricted items list to avoid delays on embarkation day. We have noticed an increase in guests arriving at the terminal with prohibited and restricted items in their bags and luggage. This is generally because they simply forget the items are in their bags.

The full list of prohibited and restricted items is available on the Disney Cruise Line website. Some of those items include:

    • Surge protectors
    • Irons and steamers
    • Drones
    • Weapons, firearms, and ammunition
    • Illegal narcotics, marijuana (even if legal where you reside or medically prescribed), and drug paraphernalia.

Guests booked on an upcoming Disney cruise will also receive a SeaMail reminding them what not to pack prior to sailing:

    Dear [Guest Name],

We are excited to welcome you aboard and want to share important information with you for your upcoming Disney cruise. As you begin to pack for your vacation, please keep in mind there are certain items you cannot bring with you. Please closely review the list of prohibited and restricted items on disneycruise.com. Some of those items include:

    Surge protectors
    Irons and steamers
    Drones
    Weapons, firearms, and ammunition
Illegal narcotics, marijuana (even if legal where you reside or medically prescribed), and drug paraphernalia.

To avoid delays for you and your family during the embarkation process, please closely review our list of prohibited and restricted items, and remove any of those items from your checked and carry-on bags before arriving to the terminal. We recommend that you thoroughly check all compartments and pockets of any bag you plan to bring onboard, as some smaller items, such as ammunition and medical marijuana, can be accidently left behind in a personal bag from a previous use. Several of the prohibited items are illegal in the ports we visit, and if they are found, you could be arrested and subject to legal penalties. Other items, such as surge protectors, irons, and steamers, pose a fire hazard and are prohibited onboard.

Guests who arrive to the terminal with a prohibited and/or restricted item in their bags or luggage, as well as their entire traveling party, will be required to undergo additional screening and may be denied boarding depending on the item found.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon and know that this added check will get your cruise off to a great start.

    Sincerely,
    The Cast and Crew
