Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is now completely sold out for the 2024 season. This marks the third year in a row that the event completely sold out and at a slightly quicker pace than last year. In 2022, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was completely sold out by September 11th, and in 2023, the event was completely sold out by September 30th.
Pre-COVID comparisons for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are difficult without knowing the exact capacity figures. Pre-COVID, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was so “unpopular” that Disney sold a “Party Pass” in 2019 that would allow guests to attend as many parties as they’d like with the exception of Halloween night. Of course, when COVID-19 hit, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was cancelled in 2020.
In 2021, Disney introduced a new type of event – a themed Disney After Hours event called “Boo Bash” that attempted to thread the needle between very low capacity After Hours events, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Because Boo Bash was an “After Hours” event, it came with an extremely high price tag when compared to Not-So-Scary. We weren’t fans of Boo Bash, and Disney apparently wasn’t either – bringing back Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2022.
When Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returned in 2022, Disney held onto the higher price point of Boo Bash with an iron fist. The result was a jump in average ticket price in 2019 of $96.53 per person up to an average price of $143.17 per person in 2022. The event was still largely the same as it was in 2019, but Disney was putting significantly more money in their pockets. When writing about the astonishing price increase, we said “it will be interesting to see if guests will continue to simply pay whatever Disney asks or if there will be a line in the sand. We’re guessing the former”.
As it turns out, not only were guests willing to pay a massive price hike in 2022, the party completely sold out in for the first time ever. Like clockwork, there was another price increase in 2023 and guests continued to reach for their wallets, happy to fork out whatever Disney was asking. Again, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party completely sold out in 2023, albeit at a slower pace than in 2022.
Now, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is, once again, completely sold out before October begins. Despite the party largely remaining the same, guests are happy to continue paying.
