While visiting Magic Kingdom recently, we stopped by Adventureland to take a look at a couple of ongoing projects. First on the docket is the Swiss Family Treehouse refurbishment. The treehouse closed last week, and scaffolding has been installed around portions of the self-guided walking experience. The current plan is to reopen the treehouse on December 20th, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it opened a little bit early.
Swiss Family Treehouse Refurbishment
These types of 1-month refurbishments are usually to allow crews to slap a new coat of paint on the high-traffic and high-contact areas in the treehouse, and usually not an opportunity to add any significant, new sets. As expected, portions of the treehouse base are wrapped in scaffolding, presumably to not only hide some of the work but to allow crews to access areas that would be difficult to reach from the existing walkways.
There’s nothing terribly noteworthy to report outside of the shine of new paint here and there, but here’s a closer look around the portions of the treehouse that were visible to us during our recent visit.
