All areas of the Swiss Family Treehouse are now open to guests roughly two months after the walk-through attraction reopened at Magic Kingdom. While the walkable areas are now open, including the uppermost “Crow’s Nest” room of the Treehouse, scrims remain in place as refurbishment of the opening day attraction drags on.
The refurbishment, which began on November 18th, was scheduled to wrap up in late December. While the attraction missed its published reopening date by a few days, work continues on the Treehouse some two months after it reopened.
That said, a portion of the Treehouse that was previously blocked off to guests is now open again. The “Crow’s Nest” is the uppermost room, and we made the trek this morning to take a look!
Crow’s Nest Reopens, Refurbishment Drags on at Swiss Family Treehouse
Here are a few photos along the way as we make our way up to the Crow’s Nest. The scrims that are currently in place are around the water delivery pulley system, which was not operational before the attraction reopened. As much as we’d like to see Disney stick to published refurbishment schedules, we are happy to see that work continues to try and get this effect operational. Hopefully, it’s just a matter of waiting for a part to arrive and then the final scrims can come down with a functioning pulley system effect working.
Here’s a look at the uppermost room that was previously blocked off to guests. This view previously included ground-to-platform scrims.
While the views out from the Treehouse are wonderful, I’m often struck by how interesting the views to the interior of the tree are as well. We can see the Crow’s Nest off in the distance.
