Walt Disney World has named the new pirate offering headed to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. Captain Jack Sparrow’s Adventureland experience is officially called Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash. Disney describes it as a recruitment mission, with Captain Jack Sparrow teaching guests pirate tricks and treats. The offering includes a pirate band, jugglers, and nods to sailor superstitions.

Disney says Captain Jack Sparrow has come to port to recruit new crew members and teach them how to be pirates. The company describes the Not-So-Scary-exclusive experience as a “gallant quest.” That quest includes a salty pirate band, daring jugglers, and sailor superstitions worked into the performance. Disney frames the offering as an interactive experience in Adventureland. Guests will learn pirate customs alongside the character rather than watch a stage show.

The addition continues Adventureland’s role as the party’s pirate-entertainment hub, as we reported when Disney first teased the new offering. That original announcement said guests would find Captain Jack Sparrow in Adventureland but gave no name or format for the offering. It also left open whether the Rusty Cutlass pirate band, a longtime party fixture in the same area, would continue alongside the new offering or be replaced. Disney’s new description doesn’t mention Rusty Cutlass by name, but it’s possible that they could appear as the “salty pirate band”.

When the entertainment offering was the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band, there were proper showtimes listed in the My Disney Experience app. Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash simply has a showtime window of 7pm to 12am, meaning that the entertainment will likely be ongoing throughout the night with brief pauses.

Here’s a look back at the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2023.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026.
