A month after we got our first look at the beginning of construction for a Walt Disney Imagineering construction trailer complex in a backstage area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we have an update on the latest work taking place. As you may recall, Imagineering is in the process of preparing land north of Expedition Everest and east of Conservation Station for a construction trailer complex that will house four Imagineering trailers and one outside contractor trailer. It is believed that this trailer complex is to bring WDI closer to the project site for the DinoLand USA reimagining into a Tropical Americas-themed land.
New Imagineering Trailers Arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
While riding Expedition Everest, we were able to get a glimpse into what appears to be a very active construction site. We could see a number of trailers and storage units on site, as well as heavy equipment as part of the ongoing efforts to prepare the land and install infrastructure.
Zooming in, we can see a tall wall on site with what appears to be rock-style theming. This is pretty common to see as Disney tests out various paints and techniques in an outdoor setting to see how the theming will react to the environment.
Through the trees, we can see more trailers are on site as work continues to bring this trailer complex online either later this year or early next year.
We’re still waiting to see shovels in the ground for the Tropical Americas project, but Walt Disney World has filed a permit outlining the first phase of construction, which will begin early next year.
