DinoLand USA Demolition Continues: Two Billboards Demolished in Former Dino-Rama Area

Good afternoon from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where we have another update for the ongoing demolition taking place in the former Dino-Rama section of DinoLand USA. Our most recent update a couple of days ago was the complete demolition of the former TriceraTop Spin attraction. Now, there has been some new demolition as Walt Disney World continues to prepare the site for the construction of an all-new Encanto-themed attraction. Let’s take a look!

Billboards Demolished in DinoLand USA

First, here’s a look back at the billboards that could be found at the back of the land. The billboards advertised Diggs County and the Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama parking lot, where the price had recently increased from $0.50 to $2.00. Another billboard advertising The Dino Institute has escaped this round of demolition (and may even make it into the reimagined Tropical Americas land in 2027).

As you can see, the two billboards that we’ll be interested in for this article are located to the left of the large Dino Institute billboard.

More recently, we can see the billboards still standing in the background of the TriceraTop Spin demolition photos below.

Here’s a look at the area from the same vantage point during our visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this afternoon.

Nearby, piles of rubble mostly consist of metal (perhaps from the TriceraTop Spin attraction), but if we change our view, we can see the former Diggs County sign lying in the rubble as well.

The demolition is necessary to clear a swath of land that will be the future home of the all-new Encanto attraction. Here’s a wide look at the former Dino-Rama area, clear of just about everything except for some trees at the back of the plot and the Cementosaurus on the far left.

Check out our earlier article for a look at permits that showcase where the new Encanto attraction and more will be located when the Tropical Americas land opens to guests in 2027.
