The Vacation Fun animated short film starring Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse will be closed starting October 20th for refurbishment of the Mickey Shorts Theater. As of publish time, a reopening date has not been announced.
Mickey Shorts Theater Closing For Refurbishment Oct. 20th
Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie will be temporarily closed beginning October 20, 2025, and is planned to reopen later this year.
Some interesting recent history with the Vacation Fun Mickey Shorts Theater is that the theater underwent refurbishment last year. The refurbishment was only for a month, but the thought at the time was that the seats and flooring would be replaced as part of ongoing theater refresh projects at Hollywood Studios and other theme parks.
Instead, there were no changes to the seating or carpet during the 2024 refurbishment. We later learned that the work was for the theater doors. That means that the seating and flooring replacement project is still an option, and would be a solid bet for this refurbishment. If that’s the case, we’d expect that the theater would be closed for a couple of months while the work takes place.
Vacation Fun, celebrates Mickey and Minnie’s favorite vacation memories, with never-before-seen animation mixed with clips from favorites like Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg and Outback at Ya!.
