The Mickey Shorts Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has reopened from refurbishment, but it did not receive the same updates that other theaters at the park have received. Most recently, the Walt Disney Theater at Walt Disney Presents received a refresh that included reupholstered seats and new carpet. It was assumed that the Mickey Shorts Theater would receive a similar treatment.

Unlike some of the other theaters that received a refresh, the Mickey Shorts Theater was still relatively “new” given that it opened in 2020 and hasn’t necessarily been packed with guests since. Our first clue that the theater didn’t receive updates was the fact that there are still physical distancing markers on the carpet.

We understand that the closure was to make repairs to the theater doors and not to the theater itself. Importantly, the Potatoland photo op remains at the exit to the theater, as well as the other photo ops.
