Typhoon Lagoon Closing, Blizzard Beach Reopening in February 2026

Walt Disney World has announced that the Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closing in February for its annual refurbishment. That means that Blizzard Beach will be reopening the very next day to accommodate guests looking to hit the slopes for their Walt Disney World vacation. Here’s the latest.

Typhoon Lagoon Closing Feb. 15th for Refurbishment

According to Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon will be closed starting February 15, 2026, for its seasonal refurbishment. The last day to experience Typhoon Lagoon before the closure will be February 14th.

As Typhoon Lagoon closes, Blizzard Beach will reopen! Blizzard Beach will be available for guests to visit starting February 15, 2026. It is very likely that both water parks will return to operation sometime this Summer, but Walt Disney World hasn’t confirmed details yet.

Last year, Blizzard Beach closed for a brief refurbishment in the Spring before both water parks were open from May 21st through September 7th. It’s unknown if Blizzard Beach will have a similar closure in 2026, or if Disney is comfortable enough just reopening Typhoon Lagoon following its refurbishment to have two-park operations for the Summer.

As a reminder, the free water park visit perk will return for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests this Summer. An exact start date for that perk has not yet been announced.
