Vertical Construction for Encanto Ride Visible at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

|

Good afternoon from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where the first vertical structure for the upcoming Encanto-themed attraction is now visible to guests. While work has been taking place on the foundation and some vertical construction for nearly two months now, the first steel structure is now visible from within the park. Here’s a first look!

Vertical Construction for Encanto Attraction Visible at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We’ll actually start this article with a little bit of context about what’s happening behind the walls, thanks to aerial photos from Bioreconstruct. Bio took to the skies a couple of days ago to get an updated look at the construction site from a helicopter. As you can see, the vertical steel structure that we’ll see from today’s visit wasn’t visible in the aerial photos taken by Bio a few days ago.

I might be getting a bit ahead of myself, but the steel structure appears to be toward the back of the construction site. That makes a lot of sense given that Disney appears to be building from “back to front”. That is, from the side closest to the pond toward the guest walkway seen cutting through the construction site.

And here’s a look at the steel structure from our visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom earlier today! It’s tall, but nowhere near the expected full height of the attraction.

A steel frame structure is being built outdoors in front of a lush green forest.

And here’s a sneak peek at the construction site from the guest walkways, looking from “front to back”, with the steel structure very obviously at the back of the site.
