The Little Mermaid ride is now closed for refurbishment at Magic Kingdom. Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid closed today, and it is currently scheduled to reopen as early as tomorrow. Here’s the latest.

Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid Closed for Refurbishment

The closure was announced earlier this month. The short lead time and short refurbishment downtime suggest that something unexpected popped up, and that it should be relatively easy to fix.

1-day refurbishment closures are not very common, but they have happened in the past.

Back in 2023 and 2024, two attractions at EPCOT each had a single-day closure for refurbishment. In July 2023, Spaceship Earth closed for a single day, and then in January 2024, Frozen Ever After closed for just one day.

It’s unclear what work will take place during today’s Journey of the Little Mermaid refurbishment. Here’s the notice posted by Walt Disney World on its website.
