Earlier today, we visited Magic Kingdom to find the return of a high-reach crane in the still-empty Cinderella Castle moat. When we passed by, crews were working on refreshing the rocks around Cinderella Castle. Here’s a closer look at what we believe will be the final phase of the repainting project.
Cinderella Moat Rocks Repainted
Crews from Adena Corporation were doing the repainting work, while crews from Disney’s Facility Asset Management were observing the work. Various buckets of paint and reference photos were spotted in the moat as crews utilized scaffolding and a high-reach crane to get to the hard-to-reach spots.
You’ll even notice in the photos below that there is some fresh concrete work as crews rebuild one of the rocks. Here’s a look around!
As we reported a few weeks ago, the drop-dead time for the project is likely before May 10th. That gives crews just a few days to wrap up the work, and it looks like that deadline may either be very tight or wrong. Either way, we hope that the moat can be refilled in the coming weeks.
While there is no new paint being applied to Cinderella Castle in any substantive way, we won’t call the project officially complete until the moat is refilled.
