Disney Vacation Club has quietly changed the names of two pools planned for Disney Lakeshore Lodge. The zero-entry feature pool at the center of The Wetlands, previously named Lakeside Lagoon, is now called Lakeshore Lagoon. The leisure pool and whirlpool spa on the opposite side of the resort, previously named Perspective Pond, is now called Cypress Point. Both pools sit within The Wetlands, the pool area and lazy river complex revealed for the resort last month.

Two Pool Names Changed at Lakeshore Lodge’s The Wetlands

New Names for Lakeshore Lodge Pools

At the heart of The Wetlands will be Lakeshore Lagoon (previously named Lakeside Lagoon), the resort’s zero-entry feature pool where guests of all ages can come together under the Florida sun. A spiral waterslide leads into the water at this pool, giving families a central gathering spot within the larger pool complex.

Tucked away on the opposite side of the resort, Cypress Point (previously named Perspective Pond) will be home to a leisure pool and whirlpool spa. This pool is positioned for views of Magic Kingdom fireworks in the evenings, giving guests a quieter option away from the main feature pool. Disney has not commented on the reasoning behind either change.

The Wetlands at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

The Wetlands draws its theme from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Pocahontas. Lakeshore Lagoon serves as the central feature pool, while Cypress Point sits tucked away as a leisure retreat. Guests moving between the two pools will pass a scenic path with facts about the local flora and fauna. The path will also contain a River Country plaque.

The rest of The Wetlands keeps its original names and layout. Guests will also find:

  • Heron Shores, a dry play area with climbing features for younger guests
  • Otter Springs, a water play area with interactive splash features
  • Daydream River, the complex’s lazy river, which carries guests through the pool and play area
