Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has notified Guests of a new bus load zone opening on July 13th. Walt Disney World bus service will begin picking up and dropping off from a new location. Disney says that guests can find the new bus stop between the Rarotonga building and the Guest parking lot. The new bus stop is just steps away from the main lobby.

New Bus Stop Opens July 13th at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • The new bus stop opens Monday, July 13th, between the Rarotonga building and the Guest parking lot.
  • The change coincides with the permanent closure of the Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way intersection.
  • Front Desk Cast Members are available for Guests with questions about the new pickup location.

Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort received a letter this week. It alerts them to continued exterior maintenance and the opening date for a new bus load zone. The letter is signed by General Manager Lauren Gossett, and it informs Guests that Walt Disney World Bus Service will pick up and drop off from a new location starting Monday, July 13th.

The letter frames the change as part of ongoing exterior maintenance at the resort. Guests with questions can ask Front Desk Cast Members for help.

How the New Bus Zone Fits the Larger Entrance Project

The new load zone lines up with a permanent road closure also set for July 13th. Beginning that day, the intersection of Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way shuts down for good. Seven Seas Drive will dead-end at the Polynesian’s main Guest entrance instead of connecting through to Floridian Way. Disney has separately emailed Guests with revised driving directions tied to that closure. Those directions split the arrival route by which section of the resort Guests are visiting.

We first got an up-close look at the new bus loop taking shape in April. At that time, crews were still pouring concrete and laying asphalt along the route. Disney buses will access the new loop from the resort’s former main entrance road off Seven Seas Drive. The bus stop location sits closer to the Great Ceremonial House than the old bus stop. The new location should slighly benefit Guests approaching from the west side of the resort complex, including the Island Tower.

We’ll continue watching for updates as the bus load zone opens and the surrounding roadway work progresses.
