Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Opening Date Revealed, First Look at Guest Rooms

Disney Vacation Club shared a first look today at the guest rooms coming to Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the waterfront resort under construction on the shores of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World. The 967-room resort is set to open July 1, 2027, on the former River Country site between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Today’s reveal covers eight distinct room types, from intimate duo studios to freestanding waterfront Lake Houses, each themed to a different Disney animated film. Here’s a look at the full details on the room lineup, guest capacities, and per-room theming.

Lake Houses Bring Guests Closest to the Water

Inside, the Lake Houses draw their theme from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Brother Bear.” Artwork throughout each unit nods to the film’s Alaskan setting and its themes of nature and discovery. Disney designed a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature for the primary bedroom to cast a glow across the room as guests settle in for the night. The full kitchen and in-unit laundry give these units more self-sufficiency than the resort’s studio and villa accommodations offer.

Duo Studios and Deluxe Studios Lean on Encanto and Bambi

Duo studios target couples and solo travelers. They take their theme from Disney Animation’s “Encanto.” Each studio includes a kitchenette and a spa-style split bathroom. A queen-size pull-down bed folds into the wall when not in use, letting the space shift from a living area by day to a bedroom at night.

Deluxe studios, meanwhile, are themed to “Bambi” and sleep up to four guests. Disney says these rooms will use warm natural materials alongside original concept artwork pulled from the studio’s archives. A kitchenette, private balcony, and dedicated seating area round out the space. Families get more room to unwind here after a day in the parks than the duo studio layout allows.

Villas Scale Things Up With Bambi and Fantasia Themes

One- and two-bedroom villas continue the “Bambi” theming introduced in the deluxe studios, using soft earth tones and forest motifs pulled from the film’s landscapes. The one-bedroom version accommodates up to five guests, and the two-bedroom version sleeps up to nine. Each includes a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, a private patio, and separate living and dining areas built for larger travel parties.

Three-bedroom grand villas sit at the top of the villa lineup, shifting themes entirely to “Fantasia” instead of “Bambi.” These villas sleep up to 12 guests and target multigenerational travel. Multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, additional gathering space, and a private patio with water views round out the layout.

Resort Rooms Round Out the Lineup With Pocahontas Theming

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will also offer more traditional resort rooms, themed to “Pocahontas” rather than the nature-documentary approach used across the villas and Lake Houses. Resort studios accommodate up to four guests, while resort studio king rooms are built for up to two. Both room types include earthy color palettes, carved wood paneling with nods to Grandmother Willow, and scenic murals depicting the film’s landscapes.

Select resort rooms come with access to The Artist’s Nest, a concierge lounge Disney describes as sitting above the treetops with views across Walt Disney World Resort. The Hidden Willow Presidential Suite tops the resort room category. It accommodates up to six guests, with views of Bay Lake by day and Magic Kingdom fireworks by night. Two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and concierge lounge access round out the suite.

Today’s room reveal follows a string of announcements over the past several months detailing the rest of the resort, including the lobby, three dining venues, the resort’s pool and lazy river complex, and the ongoing installation of themed sculptures there. The full chronology is below.

Disney Vacation Club Members get first access to rental reservations at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge starting Oct. 6. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders follow on Oct. 7, and reservations open to all guests on Oct. 8.
