Disney Villains are taking over this year’s Boo Bucket lineup, and McDonald’s made it official a day after we shared the leaked photos. The teaser video and logo reveal give fans a firm date to plan around. Both also line up with what the leak showed, from the October 20th release to five distinct villain colors.
Teaser Video Shows Five Pairs of Villain Eyes
The video shows five pairs of glowing eyes peering out of the darkness in purple, orange, white, green, and red. Below them, a Boo Bucket marked with the Golden Arches glows at the bottom of the frame. The logo frame reads “Out 10.20” beneath the two logos. Fine print on the artwork credits both McDonald’s and Disney and says the buckets are available at participating McDonald’s for a limited time while supplies last.
McDonald’s does not name the villains in the frames we have seen. The eye colors do match the five bucket colors from the leaked photos. Those showed purple for Ursula, green for Maleficent, orange for Scar, red for Jafar, and white for Cruella De Vil. That points to the leaked lineup holding up, though McDonald’s has not confirmed which characters appear.
October 20th Release Arrives During Halloween Season
October 20th is a Tuesday, the same weekday Boo Buckets have arrived on in mid to late October every year since 2022. The buckets will arrive in the final stretch of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which continues at Magic Kingdom on select nights through October 31st.
Villains are in the spotlight at Disney World this year as well. Disney confirmed the name Villains Land for Magic Kingdom’s villains-themed land at D23 on August 15th. The land will also include a Maleficent roller coaster and a Magic Mirror dark ride, according to Disney.
McDonald’s has not announced pricing, an end date, or whether every restaurant will carry all five buckets at launch. The leaked photos also showed a sticker sheet with each bucket, and McDonald’s has not said whether those are part of the promotion.
