Photos purporting to come from McDonald’s employees show five Disney Villains Boo Buckets reportedly arriving at McDonald’s on October 20th. The leaked images show buckets themed to Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil, and every bucket reportedly comes with its own sticker sheet. McDonald’s has not announced the buckets, so this remains a rumor for now. If the photos hold up, Disney fans have a great reason to stop for a Happy Meal.

Boo Buckets have come back to McDonald’s every fall since 2022, following a hiatus. This year’s set would give the tradition a Disney twist. The photos show Disney Villains peering out from color-coded pails, and the images point to an October 20th start. McDonald’s has not confirmed any of it yet, so treat this as a rumor.
Five Disney Villains Star on the Leaked Boo Buckets
The photos show what appears to be a promotional display. Above the words Happy Meal Boo Buckets sits the Disney Villains logo. Each bucket matches its villain’s signature color: purple for Ursula, green for Maleficent, orange for Scar, red for Jafar, and white for Cruella De Vil. Bold artwork frames each villain’s face on the front of the pail, Cruella’s appears in black and white, and the handles mimic the Golden Arches.
Villains are having a moment at Disney World, too. At the D23 showcase in August, Disney confirmed the official name and the Maleficent coaster and Magic Mirror dark ride for Villains Land at Magic Kingdom. Cruella is also among the villains Disney named as conjuring lairs for themselves in the land’s backstory. That makes Maleficent and Cruella two of the five characters Disney has tied directly to the project. Disney Legend Andreas Deja, who animated Jafar and Scar, is consulting on the land as well.
McDonald’s and Disney have teamed up on villains before. The Disneyland 70th Anniversary Happy Meal toys began arriving last December. Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Cruella de Vil were among the 70 characters.
Sticker Sheets and a Reported October 20th Release
Every bucket reportedly comes with a round sticker sheet. Each sheet carries its villain’s name, a “Decorate with stickers!” label, and the Disney Villains logo. The stickers appear to pull from each villain’s film, with Ariel on Ursula’s sheet, Aurora on Maleficent’s, and Aladdin on Jafar’s. What looks like Pumbaa shows up on Scar’s, while Cruella’s has Dalmatian pups and her car, and a small Boo Bucket sticker appears on every sheet. Text on the sheets seems to tell kids to flip them over.
In the promotional display, the Ursula bucket already wears Ariel and other stickers, showing how kids can customize each pail. Nothing in the photos shows a release date, so October 20th comes from the leak itself. That date fits the pattern. Boo Buckets have arrived on a Tuesday in mid to late October every year since 2022, and October 20th, 2026 is a Tuesday. Leaks like this can pan out, too. The leaked document we covered in 2020 pointed to a November 17th launch for Disney World Happy Meal toys, and those toys arrived that day. We do not have pricing, an end date, or word on whether every restaurant will carry all five buckets at the same time, or if they’ll be released in waves.
If October 20th holds, the buckets would arrive in the final stretch of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which continues at Magic Kingdom through October 31st.
