Disney Believe’s inaugural sailing date may have surfaced early during Disney’s media scavenger hunt aboard Disney Wish. Reporter Scott Gustin said on Twitter that the code to open a treasure chest in the hunt was 1218, and he asked whether that points to December 18th, 2027. Disney has not announced an inaugural sailing date, and it will hold its livestream reveal today at 4:30pm ET. Here’s the latest.

Disney invited media and content creators aboard Disney Wish this week for a three-day scavenger hunt built around clues for Disney Believe. Puzzles have already revealed new food and drinks coming to the ship, and trivia about the Disney stories that will come aboard. Gustin’s tweet adds a possible date to those clues.
The Treasure Chest Code
In his tweet, Gustin said the code that unlocked a treasure chest in the scavenger hunt was “1218.” He then posed a question about the date: “Maybe Believe inaugural on 12/18/2027?” December 18th, 2027 is a Saturday, and it falls inside the late 2027 debut window that Disney announced in March.
Numbers have been pretty significant throughout this hunt. The first puzzle had participants decode 7-2-3, the already-revealed hull number Meyer Werft assigned to Disney Believe. Disney says Imagineering hides that number in each ship’s design as a nod to its beginning.
Disney says the final day of the hunt begins at Disney Castaway Cay, where participants will discover more treasure. Opening cruise director Trent Hitchcock told the group that every task has a meaning and every clue is intentional.
What Disney’s Livestream Reveal Could Confirm
Disney says today’s livestream will cover Disney Believe’s homeport, itineraries, themed venues, and entertainment. It streams on the Disney Parks YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok channels. Itineraries are on that list, which makes the inaugural sailing date a natural detail to expect.
Disney has already revealed the bow, stern, and Grand Hall characters at D23. Tinker Bell will appear on the bow, Woody and Buzz Lightyear on the stern, and Moana in the Grand Hall. The inaugural date, homeport, and sailing schedule are the pieces of the puzzle yet to come. In just a few hours, we’ll know for sure whether “1218” really did unlock the inaugural sailing date or just the treasure chest.
