April 21st Weekly Recap (Magic Kingdom and Epcot Entrance Changes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Delayed, and more)

Welcome to the weekly recap for the week ending April 21, 2019. This past week has been a busy one at Walt Disney World with new construction, new bites, and a confirmation of a rumor that we exclusively reported. Let’s take a look!

Magic Kingdom Entrance Overhaul Project Begins

Magic Kingdom joins Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot as parks that will have a modified entrance experience. Walls went up at the Transportation and Ticket Center, creating longer walks for guests visiting Walt Disney World’s flagship park. Read more and see more photos in our story posted on Wednesday.

    Epcot Entrance Overhaul Begins

Just two days after we first wrote about Magic Kingdom, Epcot joined the fray and put up some walls at their parking lot tram drop off areas. Again, this results in a longer walk for guests visiting the park. This is the first phase of the multi-phase project that will bring a refreshed look to the park entrance.

Check out our post from Friday for more photos and info.

    Rumor…CONFIRMED!

In addition to announcing that Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway would be coming to Disneyland, Disney confirmed our rumor that the attraction would be delayed until 2020 here at Walt Disney World.

Edible Cookie Dough at Blizzard Beach

Shifting gears a bit, we found some edible cookie dough at Blizzard Beach! Should you give it a try or not? We answer that question along with some photos of what you can expect on our review.

    It’s Rat Pizza

On Tuesday, Disney announced that PizzeRizzo would finally make its triumphant return in early May. The pizza joint has been closed since late October, but with ABC Commissary closing for refurbishment, Disney has decided that now is as good of a time as any to get Rizzo back to work.

River Country Now Just a Pile of Dirt

River Country has been completely demolished as part of the site preparation work for the new DVC property: Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. We made it out there on Tuesday to give you a first look at the site.

How Long Will the Disney Skyliner Trip Take?

Also on Tuesday, we wrote about the travel times between the parks and resorts on the Disney Skyliner gondola system. Check out our post to get an idea of how long each leg of the journey will take.

Of course, we had many more stories from around Walt Disney World for you to check out, so head on over to the homepage and see what’s new this week at the parks and resorts.
