Disneyland Will Be Able to Open at 25% Capacity in Yellow “Minimal” Tier

California has just released initial theme park guidelines and it looks like Disneyland and other large theme parks will be able to open in the yellow “minimal” tier and only at a 25% capacity.

Here’s a look at the tier requirements. As of publish time, Orange County California is in the red “substantial” tier.

While unions recently called for Disneyland to open at the orange “moderate” tier, California will only allow smaller theme parks to open in the red tier, and at a capacity limitation of 25% or 500 people, whichever is fewer.

Here is the recently released state guidance as it relates to tiers and theme parks:

Tier status:

Widespread (purple):

• Closed

Substantial (red): 

• Closed

Moderate (orange):

• Smaller parks can open with modifications
• Capacity must be limited to 25% or 500 people, whichever is less
• Outdoor attractions only can open
• Reservations required
• Local attendees only (from the same county as the park’s location)

Minimal (yellow):

• Larger parks can open with modifications
• Park capacity must be limited to 25%
• Reservations required
