A report from the LA Times names the Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Resort Director of External Affairs Carrie Nocella as unidentified entities in an FBI probe into corruption in the Anaheim government. The report says that the Disneyland Resort is a power broker in a “cabal” that influences the Anaheim government and even had sway in a script about a bond measure that a city council member used in a March 2021 speech.

Disneyland has not been accused of wrongdoing in the FBI probe, but the report from the LA Times does shed light on just how influential the Disneyland Resort is in local politics.

The report comes at a time when the Disneyland Resort is pushing a major multi-year public planning effort with the City of Anaheim called DisneylandForward. DisneylandForward seeks rezoning of existing Disneyland property to expand entertainment offerings, including both Disneyland Park at Disney California Adventure theme park.

It’s unclear what impact if any, the FBI probe will have on the Disneyland Resort as the main focus of the probe is the recently resigned former mayor of Anaheim – Harry Sidhu.
