According to Disneyland union Local 50, layoff notices have begun to be sent out to affected Cast Members. Local 50 has previously announced that more than 2,800 members will be laid off. In total, Disneyland and associated unions have announced more than 8,400 layoffs. The effective separation date will be December 31, 2020.
In total, 28,000 Cast Members are expected to be laid off from the domestic theme parks division.
The layoffs come at a time when Disneyland is trying to open what they can within what they have called “unworkable” guidelines from the State of California.
