While visiting EPCOT recently, not only did we get a wonderful view of the new Harmonious barges, but also a peek at what appears to be framing work for the new MouseGear shop. The work is taking place in the breezeway between the former MouseGear and Electric Umbrella locations. With the old shop layout, this area served as one of many entrances into the store, but Disney hasn’t specifically confirmed that there will be an entrance here when the new layout is constructed.

Before we jump in, here’s a look at some of the concept art Disney released for the new MouseGear shop coming to EPCOT next year.

Here’s a look at the framing work taking place. We can see new, black steel installed in what looks to be either an entrance, window display, or both.

Let’s get out the zoom lens to get a closer look at the work taking place.

Looking beyond the framing, we can see that Disney appears to be working on some of the ceiling supports. We’ll go back to the concept art real quick. It appears that the supports being installed now are the white supports in the concept art below.

It looks like Disney is past the “gutting” portion of the project and is starting construction on the new space. It doesn’t appear to be an overly complicated build, so we can see this being completed in time for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary in fall 2021.
