Following the Omicron surge, Disney KiteTails jet ski performers are no longer required to wear face masks while performing their job. Earlier this year, we noticed that jet ski performers were all wearing masks as the Omicron surge peaked in Florida. Now, with the rolling 7-day average down 74% from its January 11th peak in Florida, it looks like rules around face coverings have been relaxed. As we saw yesterday, it looks like face masks are optional once again for the jet ski performers, but remain required for land-based performers.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper KiteTails article without an action shot of the kites landing.
In a recent investor call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek noted that Disney is self-regulating their live entertainment offerings when it comes to health and safety, noting that live entertainment is one of the last things to return to the theme parks.
