Today is opening day for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and a new operational change was made for guests experiencing motion sickness. During previews, guests and Cast Members reported a higher than average amount of motion sickness during the ride. Unlike a typical roller coaster, which can already be difficult for some, Cosmic Rewind has controlled turning of the ride vehicle which means you aren’t always oriented perfectly forward with the direction of the track and train chassis. Due to this unique ride profile, a higher than average amount of guests can experience motion sickness.
During previews, we offered some tips and tricks to help readers deal with motion sickness, including some tips from Cast Members who operate the ride. However, not all tips and tricks will work for everyone. In an effort to help guests who might experience motion sickness, Disney has stationed a Cast Member at the end of the attraction to hand out motion sickness bags to guests who might require one.
Cast Members also indicated that one of the learnings from early previews was a greater number of trash cans available at the exit. Another change that we noticed during early previews was that more benches were added along the exit route.
