Yesterday we told you that Disney World was performing a late-night fireworks test at Magic Kingdom. This morning, BlogMickey.com sources indicated that the test was to try out a new intro to the show with clips of Walt Disney. Some of the clips include audio from the famous “Florida Project” video that Walt filmed about what would become the Walt Disney World Resort.
Sources indicated that the 50th Anniversary medallion will play clips of the Florida Project film, Roy Disney’s dedication speech, and other historical footage from the early days of Walt Disney World. The new footage and fireworks will be roughly two minutes long and play at the beginning of Disney Enchantment.
At this point, it’s unclear when the changes will be announced or go into effect. The upcoming D23 Expo in September seems like a good spot to announce new additions to the theme parks. The change is an odd one given that is only a two-minute intro at the start of an otherwise unchanged Disney Enchantment, but perhaps it’ll give Enchantment a more 50th Anniversary “feel”.
