Guests looking to soar solo might find a single rider line open at Soarin’ Around the World at EPCOT as Cast Members test the viability of a single rider line. The test, which has been ongoing the past couple of days, opens during periods of high wait times and is not open all day long. Because of the nature of a test, guests should expect delays as Cast Members learn how to implement single riders into their normal operations. Here’s our experience with the Soarin’ Around the World single rider line at EPCOT!
The Single Rider line, if in use, will be at the far left of the entrance. The standby wait time was anywhere from 35 to 70 minutes this morning at EPCOT.
You will be directed to use the far left “lane” until you reach the next Cast Member. You will walk next to the Lightning Lane guests the entire time, utilizing a walkway previously only used by Cast Members.
At the first merge point, a Cast Member will direct you to one of three theaters, and instruct you to stay in the single rider queue until you reach the next Cast Member performing merge operations in the specific theater you’ve been directed to.
Once you reach the end of the single rider line, a Cast Member will direct you to whichever section you’re needed in.
Again, it’s worth noting that this is a test. Disney has not formalized a single rider line for Soarin’ Around the World yet, and it’s possible that it isn’t in use when you visit. Cast Members are new to the process, and your wait as a single rider could be extensive. We waited 20 minutes with just four single riders in front of us. There is no posted wait time for single rider, or expectation that you will even get on the ride quicker than if you stood in the normal standby queue. As a single rider, you are a pawn of efficiency and you should pack your patience – especially during a test like this. Standby and Lightning Lane remain available and open during the Soarin’ Around the World single rider test.
