Good afternoon from Magic Kingdom where we’re checking in on the latest construction for the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction coming to Frontierland. The attraction was announced in Summer 2020 and will replace Splash Mountain. While it is believed that most of the ride infrastructure will remain, Disney is working hard to transform the facade and ride scenes into a magical adventure through the salt mines of Louisiana.
As part of the work to bring Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to life, the demolition of former Splash Mountain elements continues. Most notably, we saw that the briar patch pool has been completely cleared as crews prepare to create a bayou scene. Here’s a look!

Zooming out a bit, here’s a look at the facade and current scaffolding alignment.
A closer look reveals an orange circle drawn onto the facade, likely where cuts will take place. It’s possible we see those cuts take place next month as crews continue at an impressive pace.
Here’s a more direct view of the location of future demolition.
Interstingly, there is some rebar visible at the bottom of the photo.
Other areas of the facade already have small cuts.
The faux grass in the immediate area has been removed ahead of the facade cutting.
Also noteworthy from our visit was the removal of the Splash Mountain sign from the barn entrance. Here’s a before/after of the sign.
