Demolition Underway at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Entrance Ahead of Possible Attraction Sign Installation in Magic Kingdom

Crews have begun to demolish some of the pavement and curbs around the former entrance to Splash Mountain as work continues on the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reimagining. While visiting Magic Kingdom recently, we stopped by for photos of the work ahead of what could be the installation of the attraction signage.

A permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering lists the Frontierland train station as the address for work listed as “install sign” by contractor Kentavo. Kentavo has been working with Imagineering for more than a year, mostly focused on the installation of signs and graphics for various projects around Walt Disney World.

First, here’s a look at the work taking place at the attraction entrance as seen from a balcony overlook at the Frontierland train station.

Here’s a look at the attraction signage as seen in the attraction scale model. Keep in mind that the scale model was of the Disneyland version of the attraction, so the Walt Disney World version of the ride could demand a completely different style.

Of course, it’s also possible that the “Frontierland” sign on the train station exterior could be the target of this permit, so here are a few photos of the sign from a recent visit to Magic Kingdom…just in case this area of Magic Kingdom ceases to be Frontierland in the future.
