As crews continue to create Tiana’s Bayou Adventure from the former Splash Mountain attraction, more set dressing is taking place for the attraction. In the past, we’ve taken a look at some of the rockwork necessary to remove the tree stump atop the attraction and we’ve taken a detailed look at the installation of the Tiana’s Foods water tower. Now, we’ll take a look at the latest set dressing to be installed – Bald Cypress trees that are common throughout the Louisiana bayou.
While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that three trees had been installed in the area where there used to be a pool and briar patch in the former Splash Mountain attraction. The trees, which are not immediately able to be identified, are located near the water tower.

A closer look reveals that Imagineers will be putting the faux trees together over the coming weeks much like many people will be putting together a fake Christmas tree – branch by branch. In total, there will be more than a dozen of these trees installed throughout the attraction to give the ride a Louisiana bayou feel.

We weren’t sure which type of trees these were until we got a sneak peek beyond the construction wall and noticed the base of the tree resembles the Bald Cypress which is quite common throughout the bayou. The Bald Cypress is also the state tree of Louisiana.
