New Scaffolding Arrives as Facade Work Continues for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom

There’s still a bit of work to be done before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure can open this summer at Magic Kingdom, and new scaffolding signals more facade work is on the way. It’s a bit of a rainy weekend here in Orlando, so you’ll have to bear with me as I upload the rare iPhone photos while the proper camera gear stays dry in the backpack (blue skies and sunshine not guaranteed). However, recent changes at the salt dome are noteworthy as Disney possibly addresses a sore thumb for the facade.

First, here’s a look back at the facade from sunnier times (last week). One of the gripes we had with the work so far was the red clay on the left side of the attraction sitting at odds with the otherwise lush landscape.

In the photo below from earlier today, we can see new scaffolding on the roof of the mill house as well as along the facade on the far left side of the attraction. Hopefully, crews will be able to throw some faux moss on the side of the salt dome rather quickly, but we understand that the work could be a little bit more complicated than other sections of the facade.

Some of the recently added signage doesn’t seem to be handling the rain really well, but that’s ok, neither do I.
