The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays are underway, and we’re visiting EPCOT today to take in all the sights and sounds of EPCOT’s final festival of the year. New this year is the use of CommuniCore Hall as a combination festival kiosk and merchandise location. The centerpiece of the venue is an 8-foot-tall gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth, complete with its very own light show! Here’s a look.

The sphere itself is made up of almost a thousand handcrafted gingerbread triangles to mirror the iconic attraction. It took more than 160 hours to build and there are 240 pounds of honey dough, 100 eggs, 100 ounces of lebkuchen spice, 55 pounds of dark chocolate, and 100 pounds of royal icing. For a final Disney touch, there are 11 hidden Mickeys to represent the 11 countries of the World Showcase.

Gingerbread Spaceship Earth Light Show

The gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth has a 3-minute light show every 15 minutes throughout the day. The light show is actually pretty well done considering that it’s a gingerbread display and competing with the real Spaceship Earth light show just steps away. Here’s our full video of the show and some photos!

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
