EPCOT’s Hidden ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ Scavenger Hunt

Published:

Looking for something extra fun to do during the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays? There is a hidden scavenger hunt in the United Kingdom Pavilion that is themed to the Twelve Days of Christmas, and we stopped by EPCOT recently to take a closer look at the offering!

Twelve Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT

Located in the United Kingdom Pavilion, this free-to-play scavenger hunt asks guests to keep an eye out for things found in the Twelve Days of Christmas song. The Christmas carol dates back to 1700s England, and contains the following number of animals, humans, or things:

  • a partridge in a pear tree
  • two turtle doves
  • three French hens
  • four calling birds
  • five gold rings
  • six geese a-laying
  • seven swans a-swimming
  • eight maids a-milking
  • nine ladies dancing
  • ten lords a-leaping
  • eleven pipers piping
  • twelve drummers drumming

While there are some variations on the lyrics over time, the list above is the one that you’ll want to reference during the scavenger hunt.

Keep in mind that this scavenger hunt is “unofficial” in the sense that it was put together by the merchandise visual team. Unlike the very official Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt, which costs money and contains a prize at the end and is marketed as one of the activities during the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, the Twelve Days of Christmas scavenger hunt is a sort of surprise and delight offering. There is no cost to play because there is no prize or map. Simply keep an eye out as you walk through the shops in the United Kingdom Pavilion and feel free to ask a Cast Member for a nudge in the right direction – we found that most of them have heard of the scavenger hunt and are eager to help.

Twelve Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt Locations + Photos

The rest of this article will reveal the locations of the scavenger hunt pieces through photos of the various locations. If you want to be spoiler-free for the scavenger hunt, turn back now! If you need help finding a location or two or simply want to see the scavenger hunt, keep reading.

Here’s a stock photo of the United Kingdom Pavilion to act as a spoiler buffer.

Twelve Drummers Drumming | Window of The Toy Soldier
To find the Twelve Drummers Drumming, take a look in the window of The Toy Soldier shop near the back of the pavilion. As a matter of fact, windows are a wonderful spot to look throughout this hunt.

Eleven Pipers Piping | Crown & Crest
The Eleven Pipers Piping can be found in the Crown & Crest shop, but make sure you look up! This “day” is actually pretty close to another “day”, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled!

Ten Lords a-Leaping | Window of Lords and Ladies
Keeping with the theme of looking into windows, we find the next two days of Christmas in close proximity, near a doorway into the back of the Lords and Ladies shop. This window is facing the courtyard in the back of the United Kingdom Pavilion.

Nine Ladies Dancing | Window of Lords and Ladies
If you’ve found the Ten Lords a-Leaping, you’ll quickly find the Nine Ladies Dancing as well. They are in similar window displays next to each other. As a matter of fact, here’s a look at how close they are.

Eight Maids a-Milking | Plate hanging in Lords and Ladies
Head into the Lords and Ladies shop and make sure to keep a close eye out for a plate on a wall with the Eight Maids a-Milking hidden wonderfully within the design.

Seven Swans a-Swimming | Exterior window at Crown & Crest shop
As we noted earlier, it’s a good idea to check some of the exterior windows and its in an exterior window that we find the Seven Swans a-Swimming. Take a closer look at the painting, which is difficult to photograph through the distorted windows found in the United Kingdom pavilion.

Six Geese a-Laying | Crown & Crest exterior window
You can find the Six Geese a-Laying as you enter the Crown & Crest shop from the entrance closest to The Toy Soldier. Here’s a wide view, followed by a closer photo through the impossible-to-photograph windows of the United Kingdom pavilion.

Five Golden Rings | Lords and Ladies shop
Heading back to the Lords and Ladies shop, we can find the five golden rings behind one of the registers. This is the largest of the Twelve Days of Christmas props, which almost makes it tougher to spot when you’re used to searching for small details!

Four Calling Birds | Sportsman Shoppe
The Four Calling Birds can be found with Father Christmas in the Sportsman Shoppe. This is perhaps the easiest find simply because Father Christmas draws enough attention on his own. Find the four calling birds in a cage he’s holding.

Three French Hens | The Toy Solider shop
Three French Hens can be found on top of a merchandise display within The Toy Soldier shop. Make sure to look up!

Two Turtle Doves | Lords and Ladies
Heading back to Lords and Ladies, you can find the Two Turtle Doves within a display case really close to the Lords a-Leaping and Ladies Dancing.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree | Near Kidcot
Within the same space as the Toy Soldier Shop is a library area with the Kidcot station. It’s here that you can find our last item: a partridge in a pear tree!

Overall, we really enjoyed the Twelve Days of Christmas scavenger hunt within the United Kingdom! It’s a fun way to explore the pavilion while remaining completely in theme for the holiday season. We’re told that the merchandise visual team was responsible for the idea, so shout out to the Visual Team!

While the majority of the World Showcase pavilions do a wonderful job dressing up for the holiday season, this adds an unexpected and fun layer to the decor.
