Pete’s Silly Sideshow Closed for Lengthy Tent Repairs at Magic Kingdom

|

Good morning from Magic Kingdom, where the Pete’s Silly Sideshow building is now closed to guests. The closure is for a refurbishment of the space, with a likely focus on a refresh of the tent structure. As we previously reported, the tent is in pretty bad shape right now. Here’s the latest.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow Closed for Refurbishment

As you can see in the photos below, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is closed. The refurbishment began today, and we’re not sure how long it’ll last. Right now, the venue is closed through early March, which is the furthest into the future that the operating calendar goes.

As a result of the closure, the meet and greets typically found inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be relocated elsewhere at Storybook Circus. It’s unclear where or when those meet and greets will be, but we’ll be back shortly with a report on that once we know more.

For now, here’s a look at the closed Pete’s Silly Sideshow. We understand that construction walls will arrive this upcoming week to surround the structure.

While Pete’s Silly Sideshow is the first tent to close, it will very likely not be the last. Permits filed in October 2025 indicate that Walt Disney World has a lengthy refurbishment planned for not only Pete’s Silly Sideshow, but the nearby Big Top Souvenirs as well.

Walt Disney World has not announced a closing date for Big Top Souvenirs, but it will likely close shortly after the work at Pete’s Silly Sideshow is complete. We’ve also spotted some damage over at Dumbo the Flying Elephant, but that building appears to be built with different materials than the tents.
