  • Pete’s Silly Sideshow reopens June 27
  • The tent closed in January for a refurbishment that replaced the tent tarp

  • Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy have been meeting elsewhere in Storybook Circus during the closure

Updated operating hours on the Walt Disney World website show Pete’s Silly Sideshow returning June 27 at 10am, ending a refurbishment that closed the Fantasyland tent in January.

What Changed During the Refurbishment

The refurbishment went well beyond a quick touch-up. Disney replaced the tent tarp entirely, swapping out the faded, torn fabric that had been showing its age for fresh material. The sign also got attention during the closure, along with its support poles. When the tent closed in January, we noted the structure was in rough shape, and the scope of the work since has confirmed it.

Friend of the site Bioreconstruct shared an aerial of Storybook Circus that shows the result from above. The new red-and-white striped tarp on Pete’s Silly Sideshow is pulled taut and secured on its supports, while next door, Big Top Souvenirs remains under refurbishment with its tarp removed entirely, leaving the bare metal frame exposed. The two structures side by side show the phased approach Disney has taken, with Pete’s Silly Sideshow finished first and the gift shop still mid-project.

The Story So Far

  • January 4, 2026 โ€” Pete’s Silly Sideshow closes for refurbishment, with the four resident characters relocated within Storybook Circus.
  • Spring 2026 โ€” A new tent roof is installed, followed by replacement of the worn wall fabric and work on the main sign.
  • June 2026 โ€” Updated operating hours confirm a June 27th reopening.

During the closure, the four characters who call the tent home have continued meeting guests elsewhere in Storybook Circus. As we reported when the tent first closed, Donald and Goofy moved out as the Daring Disney Pals, with Minnie and Daisy meeting nearby as the Dashing Disney Pals. Check the My Disney Experience app for the most current locations and times once the tent reopens.
