Even More Spotlights Installed on Epic Universe Buildings Ahead of Rumored Fireworks Show

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Or, in this case, fireworks. We’ve been tracking mounting evidence that Universal Orlando Resort is preparing a new fireworks show for its Epic Universe theme park, and friend of the site Bioreconstruct has added even more evidence to the files thanks to new aerial photos. Here’s the latest!

Even More New Spotlights Installed for Likely Epic Universe Fireworks Show

Universal Epic Universe does not currently have a nightly fireworks show, but evidence continues to mount that one is on the way. Here’s a recap of everything BlogMickey.com has tracked so far.

Permanent Fireworks Launch Site Completed (March 2026)

In March 2026, we reported that Universal had completed construction on a permanent fireworks launch site at Epic Universe. Located near the Universal Helios Grand Hotel entrance lake, the site includes a control bunker and electrical infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a potential nightly show featuring pyrotechnics, drones, and fountains.

Fireworks Technician Job Postings Filed (March 2026)

Later that month, we spotted two job postings from Universal seeking fireworks technicians specifically assigned to Epic Universe, one for a Lead Tech role and one for a Tech II role. Universal also filed a trademark in late 2025 for “Universal Celestial Goodnight,” believed to be tied to a new nighttime entertainment offering.

Fireworks Show Operator Job Posted (April 2026)

In April 2026, we reported on an additional job posting for a fireworks show operator at Epic Universe, further indicating active hiring for a nightly show operation.

Cosmos Fountain Drained for New Infrastructure (April 2026)

Also in April 2026, we reported that the Cosmos Fountain in Celestial Park had been drained. A newly filed permit referenced lighting installations, DMX control systems, and power and data conduits anchored to the pool base, pointing to upgrades designed for a large-scale nighttime show combining fountains, lighting, and pyrotechnics.

Spotlights Installed at Epic Universe (May 2026)

Most recently, aerial photos from Bioreconstruct revealed that Universal has installed spotlights at Epic Universe, the latest piece of infrastructure tied to what is shaping up to be a new nightly fireworks show.

Now, Bioreconstruct has spotted even more spotlights. This time, the spotlights have been installed on rooftops of buildings within the Epic Universe theme park. These spotlights flank the Helios Grand hotel on both the right and left.

The first cluster of eight spotlights can be found on the top of the Oak & Star restaurant building. These are located to the left of the Helios Grand hotel if viewed from inside the Epic Universe theme park.

A cluster of 12 spotlights can be found on the top of the First Aid building near the portal entrance to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. These spotlights are to the right of the Helios Grand hotel, and are much closer to the hotel. It looks like there will be an asymmetrical element to the spotlights when working in tandem.

For a better visual of where these buildings are located, we’ve circled them in red in the images below. I expect that the spotlights will create a wonderfully immersive feeling when flooding the skies above guests watching the combination fountain show and fireworks show that we believe is in the works. Again, Universal Orlando Resort has not announced anything official, but there has been fireworks testing, along with a mounting pile of evidence that would suggest that Universal is working on a large-scale fireworks show for Epic Universe.
