Universal Posts Job for Epic Universe Fireworks Show Operator

As we continue to keep an eye on what appears to be increasing evidence that Universal is working on implementing a nightly fireworks show at Epic Universe, there has been a new job posting. The newest job posting is for a show operator, whereas previous job postings have been related to the pyrotechnics compound. Here’s the latest!

Universal Posts Third Job for Epic Universe Fireworks Tech

As a little bit of background, we’ve been tracking the possibility of a new, nightly fireworks show since the permanent fireworks launch site was completed a few weeks ago. Since then, Universal has made some more moves that appear to be in preparation for a new nighttime show.

In late March, Universal posted two job openings for fireworks techs at Epic Universe. This is rather unusual given that there are no fireworks used on a nightly basis. Epic Universe has done specialty fireworks in the past such as the grand opening, Fourth of July, and New Year’s Eve, but these job openings listed “daily operations” under the “major responsibilities” segment of the job posting.

In addition to the job postings, Universal recently began work on the Cosmos Fountain – the main show fountain at Epic Universe. The work is extensive. The fountain has been drained and a portion of the seating area and nearby walkway has been torn up for the installation of new infrastructure. We have a detailed look at the work, along with some information from a permit that leads us to believe that there are some upgrades being to the fountain show.

Now, a third job opening has been posted. This job title is “Tech III, Show Operator (Pyro/Fireworks) – Universal Epic Universe”. While the other jobs seemed to be limited in scope to the operations of the fireworks compound, this job title is interesting in that it is for a Show Operator role.

Just like the other two jobs before it, the list of major responsibilities includes the “daily operation of the pyrotechnic elements…”.

Where the construction of a permanent fireworks launch site and the recent job postings gets interesting is when we turn back time to December 2025. On December 15th, Universal filed a trademark application for a wordmark for “Universal Celestial Goodnight”. The application listed “entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park show” as the nature of the trademark.

Here’s the logo, which I’ve taken the liberty of putting against a starry sky previously seen in the Epic Universe logo reveal.

While all of this feels like we’re bounding toward the announcement of a new nighttime show at Epic Universe, nothing has been officially announced yet. As Epic Universe gets ready to celebrate its first anniversary, I’m sure executives are looking to the future as they continue to build out the theme park.

It’s also entirely possible that Epic Universe needs to have fireworks techs for some other entertainment element that doesn’t immediately come to mind, and all of this isn’t related to a nighttime show at all…but I doubt it.
