Imagineering Files Permits for New Signage at All Four Walt Disney World Parking Plazas

Walt Disney Imagineering filed four Notices of Commencement permits today for signage at addresses tied to the parking plazas at all four Walt Disney World theme parks. Each form lists Kentavo as contractor and describes the work as “Install signage.” The EPCOT address matches its parking plaza entrance, while Hollywood Studios likely contains a typo, and Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom sit a short distance from their plazas. Here’s the latest.

Disney Files Permits for Parking Plaza Signage at All Four Theme Parks

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • What the four Notices of Commencement say and who filed them
  • How each address lines up with the parking plazas at EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • What the filings do and do not tell us about the signage itself

Imagineering’s filings give us an early look at what appears to be a new signage project for all four parking plazas. Every permit is similar, with the exception of the property address, of course. The consistency suggests one coordinated project across all four parking plazas.

What the Notices of Commencement Say

A Notice of Commencement is a recorded document that goes on file before improvement work begins. Each filing names Walt Disney Imagineering as owner and Kentavo of Kissimmee as contractor. Kenvato is Imagineering’s go-to company for signage work around the theme parks and beyond.

Every form describes the scope of work as “Install signage.” The general description leaves open whether the work covers entrance marquees, digital boards, wayfinding, or something else. Each form also leaves the expiration date blank, which means the notice lasts one year from recording unless Disney specifies otherwise. These types of forms do not give a start date, so it’s unclear when visible changes may appear.

Matching the Addresses to Each Parking Plaza

The filings list street addresses only and do not name a theme park. We matched each address to its location. All four are either at or near a parking plaza:

  • EPCOT: 200 EPCOT Center Drive, the entrance to the EPCOT parking plaza
  • Magic Kingdom: 3301 N. World Drive, an area along World Drive near the Magic Kingdom parking plaza
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 500 E. Savannah Circle, the Animal Kingdom parking lot
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 2750 N. Studio Drive, which appears to be a typo for 750 N. Studio Drive, the entrance to the Hollywood Studios parking plaza

The EPCOT address is the cleanest match. Hollywood Studios most likely contains a typo, since 750 N. Studio Drive is the parking plaza entrance. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are slightly off, but likely close enough to indicate that they’re related to the parking plaza work.

Parking plaza signage has been a recurring upgrade over the years. We saw EPCOT swap in a new parking plaza marquee in January 2023, with lettering that matches the rest of the arrival experience. Animal Kingdom then received a digital sign in December 2024, making it the third park to get one. New signage at all four plazas would continue that work and welcome guests the moment they pull in.

  • Animal Kingdom’s parking plaza picked up a Galaxy-class digital sign that can display variable messaging, including parking rates and Preferred Parking details.
  • EPCOT replaced its old entrance sign with a new parking plaza marquee that matches the park’s updated arrival experience.
