Brew-Wing at The Odyssey Review – 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

Returning to the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is Brew-Wing at The Odyssey. We’ve been following the transformation of The Odyssey into a Food & Wine Festival space following the closure of The EPCOT Experience preview center. While our previous coverage included a look around the space, we recently went back to EPCOT to try the new wings. Here’s our Brew-Wing at The Odyssey review!

Here’s a look at the new chicken wings available in 2022.

Brew-Wing at The Odyssey Review (2022)

Sticky Wings with Peanut Sauce and Grape Gel (NEW 2022) – $7.50

    Served with celery and ranch

    Rating: 4 out of 5.

We’ll start with a new item for the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival – the Peanut Sauce and Grape Gel wings. Overall, the wings were certainly better than the 2021 offerings. The PB&J wings were spot on, flavor-wise. They essentially tasted like smooth peanut butter on a wing – very interesting! The grape gel wasn’t as present as we would’ve hoped, but it was occasionally present. Chopped peanuts offered a nice change in texture, but all of the necessary flavors came from the sauce.

    Garlic-Parmesan Wings – $7.50

    Served with Celery and Ranch

    Rating: 1 out of 5.

There really isn’t a lot of flavor here and the wings were dry. It’s not a dry rub, but rather a lack of sauce. These wings left a lot to be desired and you can skip them without missing much.

    Traditional Buffalo Wings – $7.50

    Served with Celery and Ranch

    Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

A returning offering, these were the only wings that we felt the execution was good on in 2021. If you’re looking for traditional, this is it. A little bit of heat on the back end made these one of the more complete offerings at Brew-Wing. That said, at the end of the day they’re just traditional wings, at a world-class food and wine festival.

    Sriracha-Lime Wings (NEW 2022) – $7.50

    Served with Celery and Ranch

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

These were our favorite of the new wings this year. Be sure to spread the lime across the wings before you dig in. The sriracha adds a bit of heat and wonderful flavor that the lime attempts to tame. We’d almost recommend coming to Brew-Wing just to try these wings, but it’s likely that they won’t live up to your usual order at your local sports bar. Ultimately, Brew-Wing is more of a spot to grab a table and recharge in the air conditioning than a Global Marketplace that will demand your attention from a culinary point of view.

    Dry-rubbed Jerk-spiced Wings (NEW 2022) – $7.50

With papaya chili sauce with Celery and Ranch

    Rating: 2 out of 5.

Intentionally dry, these are a good offering but suffer from an overly applied dry rub that was overpowering. A little bit of papaya chili sauce is drizzled on top that pairs nicely with the jerk flavor, but we really couldn’t get past the amount of dry rub.

    Crispy Brussels Sprouts – $5.00

    With buffalo sauce

    Rating: 3 out of 5.

A plant-based option, these were good, but probably not something that we’d recommend that you specifically head to Brew-Wing for. Notably, there was a wonderful (vegan) blue cheese flavor paired with buffalo sauce.

    Beverages

    • Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company Pineapple Vibes Blonde Ale – $5/9 (6/12oz)
    • 3 Daughters Brewing Watermelon Wheat Ale (New) – $5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Central 28 Beer Company Groveland Road Blood Orange IPA (New) – $5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Beer Flight – $10.00
    • Bold Rock Honeycrisp Hard Cider – $5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Woodchuck Guava ‘Nother Hard Cider (New) -$5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Strawberry Lemonade Hard Cider (New) -$5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Cider Flight – $10.00

Brew-Wing had a very rough debut in 2021. They dropped the flatbreads this year and added some better wing flavors, but at the end of the day, you’re not going to the Food & Wine Festival for wings. If, however, you’re looking for a place to beat the heat, Brew-Wing is a great spot. Try the Sriracha-Lime wings and grab a beer before heading back out to World Showcase.
