As part of the Shanghai Disneyland 5th Anniversary announcements, Disney shared a photo of a new global costume for Iron Man (via disney_magical_kingdom).
It is believed that this is the new “Iron Man Mark 80 armor” that will be a Disney Parks exclusive suit – including at Avengers Campus which is set to open later this year at Disney California Adventure.
Tony Stark has influenced, from design, everything about Avengers Campus. So making sure that we can deliver on Iron Man, this is huge for us to not only deliver on such an iconic character, but designing it again with Ryan Meinerding and making it something that can walk among us, be right there. We’re going to be meeting him daily.
If this is indeed the Mark 80, it is surely built for a walk-around character with what appears to be a softer middle section – likely making it a more maneuverable suit. Of course, it also looks like a children’s Halloween costume in the image released. Hopefully Disney is able to provide some more details on the suit soon.
