Disney California Adventure Adding Even More Spider-Man Stuntronic Shows to Avengers Campus Soon

Despite unfounded rumors, the Disneyland Resort has announced that it will not only not be ending the Spider-Man stuntronic show at Disney California Adventure, but in fact expanding the number of shows per day. Currently, the stunt show is shown nine times per day.

According to a report from the OC Register, Disney California Adventure will be adding more opportunities for guests to watch the incredible “stuntronic” robotic Spider-Man soar through the skies of Avengers Campus starting November 17th.

Spider-Man Stuntronic

The Spider-Man stuntronic show, titled The Amazing Spider-Man!, is a high-flying stunt show that sees an Audio-Animatronic slung through the skies over Avengers Campus, simulating a real-life Spider-Man.

Walt Disney Imagineers developed “Stuntronics” to enable that superhuman flight through the thoughtful and innovative application of technology. This project combines advanced robotics with the exploration of untethered dynamic movement to create realistic aerial stunts that would be humanly impossible.

When heroes fly, they do so with both style and expertise. The Stuntronics figure is no exception. Onboard sensing equips the figure to perform a variety of combinations of flips, twists and poses with repeatability and precision. Quintuple backward somersault with a tucked landing? No problem. Any hero would approve.
