Aerial Update for Dreamers Point & Festival Gardens Construction at EPCOT

Sometime later this year, The Pit will be no more and there will be a dynamic area in World Celebration that will contain a Festival Gardens area dedicated to whatever festival is running at the time, a place called Dreamers Point dedicated to Walt Disney, and CommuniCore Hall – a multi-purpose building that replaced the World Celebration Festival Center. Recently, friend of the site Bioreconstruct took to the skies over Walt Disney World to provide a series of updates from a helicopter some 3,000′ above The Most Magical Place on Earth. In this article, we’re going to focus on the Festival Gardens construction as well as the latest from Dreamers Point. Let’s jump in!

We’ll start with an overview of The Pit, aka the World Celebration construction site. We can see that CommuniCore Hall is coming along nicely in the southwest corner of the dirt circle. We actually took a lap on the monorail recently and have a closer look at some of the work taking place.

Staying focused on our purpose in this article, we’ll start with Dreamers Point – an area dedicated to Walt Disney and it’ll be where you can find the Walt the Dreamer statue.

First, here’s a look at concept art for the area.

Here’s a look at the actual statue that will be installed in EPCOT. It was on display at the 2022 D23 Expo.

And here’s a look at the Dreamers Point area where the statue will be placed. We can see that a considerable amount of pavement has been poured, but it looks like the actual Dreamers Point statue placement area is still taking shape.

Moving south, we’re going to take a look at the Festival Gardens area. First, here’s the concept art for the space.

And here’s a look at the area on a recent flight over EPCOT. Some planters are starting to take shape, but it’s still mostly dirt as Disney targets a late 2023 opening.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!

  1. It looks like nothing is happening but dirt. Can’t believe it’s taking this long to basically plant some trees. A big waste of time and money, but I’ll keep a small bit of hope to see it to the end….whenever that comes.

  2. Wow. We will be there next week. I am so excited to see that construction. Just kidding. I’m disapointed. Along with 12 other venues closed for refurbishment we will have a lot of time on our hands. No we cannot wait till it’s done. I’m 78 and think this will be my last visit to WDW. I’ll have to live on the memories of the past 14 visits.
