Walt Disney World has updated the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana webpage with new details and a confusing communication about the opening timeframe for the walk-through experience.
For some reason, Disney did not update the opening timeframe on the official webpage to reflect other recent communication about the opening. For example, on the Disney100 webpage, the timeframe for the opening for the experience is currently set as “Fall 2023”. In a March 2023 blog post, Disney World also said that Journey of Water would open this Fall. It would stand to reason that Disney World would include the Fall 2023 verbiage in this latest update for the official webpage for the attraction, but not only does the webpage still say “Late 2023”, but Disney also added emphasis on the “Late 2023” timeframe by bolding it in the expanded description below:

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is scheduled to open in late 2023 within World Nature—the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world.

The last day of Fall is November 30th, so both “Fall 2023” and “Late 2023” could be referring to the same timeframe without getting guests’ hopes up that the experience would open in the early days of Fall, which begins September 23rd. The average high temperature dips below 80° starting in November, with lows in the 50s.
