The king has returned. After years and years of using Figment as an unofficial official mascot for EPCOT, Disney has brought back a meet-and-greet opportunity with the lovable dragon. Guests can now meet Figment in the ImageWorks post-show for the Journey into Imagination attraction. Demand was high to meet Figment and Cast Members were quoting wait times of up to 3 hours this morning as the line stretched outdoors shortly after park open.
Depending on how long the line is during your visit, you’ll either find Cast Members directing guests outside of the pyramid-shaped Imagination Pavilion, or you can head into the ImageWorks area at the end of the ride. There is no requirement to ride Journey into Imagination to meet with Figment.
Here’s a look at the crowds this morning to meet Figment. There were two waiting areas – one inside and one outside. The indoor portion of the queue reached capacity at or shortly before 9am and then the outdoor queue began to form. Cast Members were quoting up to 3 hours for the predicted wait time when we left EPCOT late this morning.
Figment takes over the former Vanellope meet-and-greet space in the ImageWorks post-show area. As has been the case with the meet-and-greets in this area, Figment enters and exits the room via the newly renamed DREAMPORT. Here’s a quick video of the area, including Figment’s arrival this morning shortly after 10am.
Here are some more photos of Figment’s return to EPCOT!
Figment doesn’t sign anything, but guests receive an autograph card.
