As The Walt Disney Company celebrates 100 years since Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney founded the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the Walt the Dreamer statue appears to be sitting in Dreamers Point in the World Celebration construction site. While riding the monorail earlier today, we spotted a box in the Dreamers Point section of the construction site with a box labeled “Limited Access”. While it would’ve been fun to have had the World Celebration area completed and the Walt the Dreamer statue unveiled to guests on today’s important anniversary, we’ll have to wait a bit longer.

That said, we have already seen the exact Walt the Dreamer statue that will be displayed in EPCOT back at the 2022 D23 Expo more than a year ago. The statue has been at Walt Disney World since November 2022, but the box only showed up on the construction site this summer.

In a press release today, Disney mentioned the statue, saying “additional upcoming transformative elements include the debut of a new Walt Disney statue called ‘Walt the Dreamer’ at Dreamers Point and the World Celebration gardens with plenty of lush green space to enjoy.” Disney has previously said that the construction will be completed by the end of this year and that the area would open in December.

In this closer photo, we can see that there are warning signs on the box saying “Limited Access” as well as a lock to keep the box closed. It’s entirely possible that someone is overprotective of their toolbox, but it’s probably more likley that this is the Walt the Dreamer statue awaiting final installation.
