Today is the first day of Cast Member previews for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure following Walt Disney Imagineering previews yesterday. Today’s previews are limited to Magic Kingdom Cast Members, with Cast Member friends & family previews scheduled to begin tomorrow before preferred media previews in the second week of June.
While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we were able to watch maybe 20 minutes of previews before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure broke down and all riders were evacuated. The WDI previews yesterday also faced evacuations. It’s likely that due to the nature of it being a preview, operations are quicker to pull the plug to evacuate the ride and reset than they would on a normal operating day. That said, Splash Mountain had its share of operational…issues… in its waning years, including a few times when the log ride vehicle forgot that it was supposed to float.
Cast Member Previews for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
It was a morning filled with screams of joy and huge smiles from Cast Members who were able to preview Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Magic Kingdom Cast Members kick off the preview period, but will soon be followed by Walt Disney World Cast Members and their friends and family starting tomorrow. Then, preferred media will preview the ride in the second week of June before Annual Passholder previews and more Cast Member previews before the June 28th opening date.
Preview check-in was at the entrance to the attraction. Here’s a look at the preview this morning before the ride broke down and evacuations ensued.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this article suggested that the downtime could have been planned for operational experience and testing. We have spotted maintenance Cast Members inspecting the ride, suggesting that this is, in fact, a reliability issue.

Wait until you hear from others that they evacuated the ride this evening (June 2) due to a Signal 25 (fire)…. rough start, and I didn’t even get to ride the ride after waiting 90 minutes past the close of my ride window today.
