Following the news that Lightning Lane Premier Pass is starting to sell out due to popularity during the busy Thanksgiving Week period, the other end of the spectrum is also now represented with all-time low prices in early December. There is a crowd lull between Thanksgiving and mid-December, which is now reflected in new low pricing for the still-expensive Lightning Lane Premier Pass product.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass Low Pricing in December
The new all-time low prices are available in the second week of December at three of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. Here’s a look at the changes:
Park | Current Low Price | New Low Price (date) |
---|---|---|
Magic Kingdom | $329 | N/A |
EPCOT | $169 | $149 (Dec. 9) |
Disney’s Hollywood Studios | $269 | $249 (Dec. 8) |
Disney’s Animal Kingdom | $129 | $119 (Dec. 10) |
I don’t think that the new low prices reflect an early failure of the service, but rather standard seasonal crowd trends. Walt Disney World uses seasonal pricing for a few products now that allow you to create your own crowd calendar of sorts. With seasonal ticket pricing and now seasonal Lightning Lane pricing, Disney is essentially making public their forecast of crowd levels on any given day.
If you were to visit the theme parks on the dates listed above as having the lowest Lightning Lane Premier Pass pricing, I’d bet that you’ll find lower-than-average crowds as well.
